Brothers Chamberlain ticket

This is quite an old Exhibition match ticket; Peter Ainsworth provided the following information when the ticket was posted on facebook..

The “Brothers Chamberlain” were Bert and Allun Chamberlain, local professional billiard players in Cardiff.

Bert was employed as the marker at the Cathay’s Conservative Club, and Allun had a similar position at the Terminus Hotel, Cardiff.

The games mentioned on the ticket were played in 1898, on the dates indicated. The first game was unfinished as they ran out of time, while the second was won by Allun, perhaps not surprisingly as he was on his home table. Nice little piece of history.
