Fifth Sidney Smith Cue
MacMahon’s cue
The MacMahon’s cue made by Taylor, Edinborough.
While in York the cue was purchased from referee, Lawrie Annandale.
James MacMahon was a Billiard Saloon Manager at the Royal British hotel, Edinburgh and at the time seen as the best professional player in the City.
Also known as a teacher of billiards, MacMahon designed and patented a cue which it appears was manufactured by Taylor to be used for that purpose.
