Merrall Monkhouse cue

The Merrall Monkhouse, Oldham & Manchester cue.

The cue is machine spliced.

In 1966 the Monkhouse business (now operated by the Hughes family), was bought by the Manchester based Fred Merrall & Co Ltd and although the shop in Oldham continued to trade as ‘Albert Monkhouse’, some of their products, (most notably cues) were given the brand name ‘Merrall & Monkhouse.’

The brand was short lived however, as Merrall’s were wound up in 1975, but the shop in Oldham continued to operate under the retained ownership of the Hughes family selling general sporting goods.
